Theatre Productions
Mainstream Theatre Arts is organised around a well-structured framework that gives its students the opportunity to develop new skills, but most importantly the opportunity to display them. We can say with certainty that our productions bring out the best in our students. Through ongoing performances which take place over the course of the year, our members build confidence and ability and are encouraged to work both on their own initiative and as a team player, all elements which we believe are essential to our students' future no matter what career path they decide to follow. We have a multi-skilled production team which forms the backbone of all our productions. Because of their expertise and ability to put together various types of productions, from dance shows and pantomimes to straight drama, our company is often called upon for conferences, theatre-in-education work, special commissions, concerts, and professional work. Mainstream is keen to produce as many productions as possible over the course of the year, and give every one of our members the opportunity to perform.

August 19, 2002 Otterbein College Theatre Announces 2002-2003 Season Otterbein College Theatre announces a season of productions with something for everyone, including an audience-participation mystery, a drama based on actual events, a children's classic and the annual dance concert. The season will open Oct. 17 with The Mystery of Edwin Drood by Rupert Holmes. Directed by Dan Knechtges, the audience plays an active role in this whodunit of a mystery as they vote on the solution to the mysterious whereabouts of young Edwin Drood. The wildly warm-hearted theatrical experience kicks off when the Music Hall Royale - a hilariously loony Victorian musical troupe - performs its flamboyant rendition of an unfinished Dickens mystery. When Drood disappears on one stormy Christmas Eve, murder is suspected, but who could have committed the crime? That is for you to decide! The Mystery of Edwin Drood runs October 17-26, with a special school matinee on October 16 at 10 a.m. In November 2002, Otterbein presents its Annual Children's Show, runs Nov. 15-17, 2002, with special school matinees on Nov. 13 and 14 at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m.
