History and Purpose The primary purpose of this ministry is to challenge, train, and disciple young people, exposing them to worldwide missions. As they see the pressing needs of the world, we pray that many will also see the necessity for training to help them meet these needs more effectively. Team members and leaders confirm that this early vision was indeed born of God. Their life goals and direction had changed. Hundreds are now preparing for the specific task to which God has called them or are already on the mission field. Director and founder Robert M. Bland is a former Youth for Christ director from Ohio and past recruitment director for Christian Service Corps. He has also served as a pastor and the director of a national Christian youth ministry. Boot Camp, in Merritt Island, Florida, is a two-week (modified in length and training for preteens), tent-type training camp to acquaint guys, gals, and leaders with conditions of the mission field. Daily classes help prepare them for their ministry. A timed obstacle course is used to unify a team and teach them how to work together. Trained adult leaders maintain strong discipline at Boot Camp and on the field. Boot Camp climaxes with a candlelight Commissioning Service when teens and leaders depart for their particular project. Debrief Preparation for Ministering at Home Debrief, held at the end of each summer project, equips young people to return to their homes and churches, putting into practice the things God has taught them throughout the summer.

Welcome to the EFCC Home Page
The Evangelical Free Church of Canada is an association of over 148 churches joined together by common purposes, principles and practices. It is a partner with more than 1250 Evangelical Free Churches in the United States. The Evangelical Free Church of Canada is also an active participant among 28 members of the International Federation of Free Evangelical Churches worldwide. Evangelical refers to our commitment to the authority of Scripture as being inerrant in the original autographs and the only safe and sufficient guide to faith and practice. Free is a term that historically has designated a church as being one that was not a state-controlled church. Today, since no church in North America is state sanctioned or controlled, it has come to signify our form of church government as being congregational and the fact that Evangelical Free Churches maintain their autonomy with regard to the purchase of property, calling of pastors, setting budgets, etc. Yet they voluntarily band together interdependently and freely in missions, church planting, education, camping, publications, and other ministries. The EFCC welcomes your input and comments on this site or anything else. Our e-mail address is:
