The Administration and Supervision of Special Education (EDSE) program prepares administrators and supervisors of special education to work in a variety of settings including public and private schools, community colleges, state departments of education, federal agencies, nonprofit, professional and volunteer organizations serving individuals with disabilities. Some students may also choose to teach in university training programs, as adjuncts while working as administrators, or in full-time faculty position as their experience allows. Comprehensive Programs
Designed to Prepare Educational Leaders for the Challenges of Tomorrow
The Administration and Supervision of Special Education (EDSE) program is a post-master's preparation program, which can lead to an Ed.S., Ed.D. or Ph.D. in special education administration. It is an integral part of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech. Students follow an interdisciplinary course of study offering licensure as a school administrator. In addition to course work in educational leadership and special education administration, a wide range of university studies is available to doctoral students including theories and techniques of teaching and learning, human development, early childhood education, psychology, business administration, and public policy. Throughout their course of study, students participate in a variety of field study and internship experiences in public schools, community colleges, state departments of education, nonprofit agencies, state and federal agencies and legislative bodies.

All persons born on or after January 1, 1975 must first successfully complete a certified hunter education course before purchasing a hunting license. (Chapter 20-2-30a WV Code)
When purchasing a hunting license, the person must present a certificate of completion to the agent issuing the license.
The first hunter education class taught in West Virginia was in 1968. It consisted of a short talk and a movie. In 1971, West Virginia won the NRA award for outstanding contributions to the field of hunter education. Today the course takes an average of 12 hours to complete. Over 360,000 students have passed the course since it began. This could not have been accomplished without the help of over 500 trained volunteer instructors who donate hundreds of hours and thousands of miles each year. The ten commandments of gun safety 1. http://usinfo.state.gov/usa/infousa/facts/democrac/46.htm
INTRODUCTION TO THE COURT OPINION ON THE WEST VIRGINIA BOARD OF EDUCATION V. BARNETTE CASE
There are two clauses regarding religion in the First Amendment. One is the Establishment Clause, which prohibits the government from establishing any sort of official religion (see next document); the other is the Free Exercise Clause, which forbids the government from restricting an individual's religious practices. Free exercise claims often overlap claims to freedom of expression, and several of the most important religion cases mixed issues of free speech and free exercise together. A key element in religion clause jurisprudence is the dichotomy between belief and action originally enunciated by Chief Justice Morrison Waite in 1879. While the First Amendment absolutely prohibits government efforts to restrict beliefs, it does not prevent the state from forbidding practices that threaten public order or safety. In the example Waite used, if a sect believed in human sacrifice, the government could do nothing to restrict that belief; but it could, without violating the Free Exercise Clause, bar the actual sacrifice. While this belief/action analysis remains useful even today, the Court came to recognize that in some areas belief and action overlapped. The Jehovah's Witnesses are a relatively small sect in the United States, but they are responsible for some of the most important cases establishing religious freedom. The Witnesses claimed a right to proselytize, an action, without state regulation, as essential to the free exercise of their creed, a belief. In several cases the Court upheld these claims, but primarily on speech rather than religion clause grounds, yet these decisions are in fact the basis for modern jurisprudence on the Free Exercise Clause.
