    FARRAH TALKS
    by Gene Geter
Farrah Franklin, formerly of Destiny's Child, isn't happy about her short stint and eventual dismissal from the group. Here, Farrah tells her story about the lead singer, Beyoncé Knowles, Beyoncé's family and their manager, which as a whole, she blames for creating most of the drama that has plagued the popular singing group. Gene: So how did you get hired and fired within a few months? Farrah: Well, there has been a lot of negativity going on. It just didn't suddenly happen. I'm sure you probably heard I was sick with a stomach flu and dehydration. Gene: Yes. So was that true? Farrah: Yes, that was very true. Gene: But having an illness wouldn't be a reason to be kicked out of the group. Farrah: Actually, we [Destiny's Child] were in London for about a week and I was vomiting every day. No one even cared that I was sick. No one asked me if I was okay or needed some medicine. I went to see my doctor when we arrived back in the states and five minutes after I was in my doctor's office, my manager, Matthew Knowles, says to me I need to get on an airplane to Houston because MTV news was going to be there in the morning. And if I didn't want to come, I could keep my ass there because I was the least needed in the group anyway. Gene: Least needed? That's what he said?

    Usher's Interviews
    Usher-ing Back In
    by Gene Geter
Gene: So what does 8701 exactly mean?
Usher: I found music in 1987 at the age of 9 and here we are in 2001, 23 years old. It's the evolution of an artist, my career and my life. For those people who have followed my career, they will understand 8701 a bit better.
Gene: And the album's coming out on August 7th, on my birthday.
Usher: Oh, really? That's your birthday? That's a big day for both of us.
Gene: I heard your album was due out in December 2000, but it was leaked on Napster?
Usher: Yeah, it was on Napster. The first thing I did was contact my record company and they couldn't tell how it got on there. I even spoke to management and Jermaine Dupri. No one knew how it got out. And I know all my engineers personally so it was a big mystery. I didn't want my work bootlegged so I scraped the album, changed it and it is a better album, too.
Gene: Do you have any ideas of your own how it got leaked?
Usher: I do, I do. It has been dealt with.
Gene: Let's play devil's advocate. What if your new album gets leaked somewhere? Usher: It shouldn't. If it does, I've all ready started promoting it. I'm sure my single, "U Remind Me" is on Napster right now. If I could do something about it, I would. I'm not feeling Napster. I don't think that system is fair.

Without sensing it, you will feel this magical universe wich takes you into the wistfulness. Art, through all its expresions, whether we are talking about painting, sculpture, writing, poetry, literature, architecture, photography, cinema, theatre, dance, music, literature, romance, design... is the only one that can transform the world we are living in. It is an elevating situation that those who embellish life are continuously challenging our immagination and our souls with their endless masterpieces. When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.- John F. Kennedy The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed. Chamfort
