ANGELA THIRKELL PAPERS CATALOGUE
The Brotherton Collection at Leeds University Library is the repository of the literary papers of Angela Thirkell, contributed by Lance Thirkell as her literary executor on the advice of the Angela Thirkell Society (UK). This valuable collection contains original manuscripts, publications, letters, contracts, and other papers which had been preserved by Angela Thirkell during her career. This catalogue is taken from a typewritten catalogue which accompanies the collection. An index and correspondence index are also provided. The collection, stored in twelve boxes, is a fascinating history of a literary career. The Brotherton Collection has many literary and historical interests, but the 20th Century English author collection provides the context for this valuable resource for Angela Thirkell research and knowledge. Prior arrangements to view this collection must be made with the library: Special Collections, Leeds University Library, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds LS2 9JT, UK. Using the 1% Household SAR for analysing patterns of household and family formation amongst young adults
Dr Sue Heath and Professor Angela Dale Introduction The 1% Household SAR is a powerful dataset for exploring patterns of household and family formation. It is a hierarchical data file, allowing individuals to be located both in relation to their specific families and their broader households. This makes it possible to construct finely detailed classifications of living arrangements drawing on information relating to all household and family members. It is then possible to obtain a cross- sectional picture of patterns of household and family formation, paying attention to differences which may exist between different population sub-groups. Research into patterns of household and family formation is extremely important given the complex changes in the circumstances of young adults in the last two decades. There has been a reduction in the proportion of women in their twenties living in partnerships, an increase in the proportions of both men and women remaining in the parental home well into their twenties, as well as the growth of a relatively new phenomenon - young people leaving the parental home not to form partnerships, but to live alone or with unrelated others. These are changes which have occurred not just within the United Kingdom, but within the United States, as well as within a number of Northern European countries.

I have heard this many times from reps, in fact often it goes like this:
"Hey Steve (note: I hate ppl that do not know me calling me Steve :-) I
can give the home page banner. Its avail for your buy. Its normal list is
[some figure normally 10-50% more than other pages] but for you I will
give it to you at [the rate I got for the rest of the pages]. This is a
gold mine spot, as soon as people see us they will see you!"
Well, on the surface this has merit, and in fact some times I have got
good resposne from default home page buys. However, most of the times they
are dogs... in fact not even pretty dogs, these are the mutts no one else wants. This is because in my opinion if I say log onto my local ISP and I have not changed the default site loaded on my broswer what do I care about the start website? The vast majority are leaving that page before it has even fully loaded, either to 1, part of the site they want to

Pandora's Box October 8th, 2001 This month in Pandora's Box we find The Outlaw and the Lady by Lorraine Heath The Outlaw and the Lady opens with Angela Bainbridge, a heroine who manages to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. She walks right into notorious bank robber Lee Raven just as he's leaving the scene of his latest crime. He kidnaps her and takes her with him, because no one else has ever seen his face. Too late, he realizes she hasn't seen his face either; she's blind. As Lee outruns two different posses, he keeps Angela with him. Soon she comes to realize that he is no ordinary bank robber, and he realizes that she may be just what he needs to turn his life around. Blythe: Well, Linda, I've been a Heath fan for several years, ever since someone on the old Prodigy boards told everyone to go buy Always to Remember ASAP. I bought it, loved it, and have read her books ever since. So far, there hasn't been one that I haven't liked. The Outlaw and the Lady isn't my favorite of hers, but I did enjoy it. I liked the heroine, and I loved the hero and his family. I had some quibbles with parts of the plot, but in the end my liking for the characters made it a book that I could really sink my teeth into. What did you think? Linda: I read the first two books in the Englishmen in Texas series and was glad to see she was continuing the series into the next generation. I absolutely loved Angela - what a valiant woman, what a shining character! My only problem was that I could see the hero's true identity coming a mile away; in fact, I knew it from the first clue. This was the same problem I had with the first book in the series - I

Commissioner's switch dumps proposal for regional landfill
By Angela Harne, Cox News Service "This chapter in Greene County is over," Chairman Bennie Heath said after the board approved a letter to Republic Industries telling the company it would not approve any of three sites studied as possible locations for the facility. Heath voted along with Fulghum and Mary Betty Kearney in favor of a "no site" option. Denny Gardner voted against the option. Landfill opponent James Schackleford was absent from the meeting. Heath, a longtime landfill supporter, said voting against the no site option simply would have delayed the inevitable. Shackleford would have broken the deadlock at a meeting in two weeks, he said. Heath said he recognized the majority of the board was against it, "so why continue discussion." Many in Greene County have been courting a landfill since the mid-1990s, promising it would give residents a free place to dump trash and raise at least $1 million annually in tax revenue for overdue improvements to a jail, local schools and other public demands. In October 1998, commissioners voted to allow construction of the facility on a 300-acre site on N.C. 91 near Castoria, about halfway between Snow Hill and Walstonburg. A group called Greene Citizens for Responsible Growth sued the county, contending the board and the landfill operators did not consider alternate locations as required by law.
