I called Jimmy in the early morning before he had a chance to get involved with anything... around the house... like chores.. I think Jimmy Martin is a REAL Bluegrass Personality of Colossal Proportions. He is from the old school and has no problem speaking his point of view. Fennig later worked with Bobby Allison and Stavola Brothers Racing. As crew chief with Allison, Fennig won two Winston Cup races and helped Dick Trickle win the 1989 Rookie of the Year title. In 1990, Fennig joined Bobby Allison Motorsports and remained there until coming to Roush Racing in October 1996. There he spent several successful seasons as crew chief for Mark Martin.
