Probably the most ambitious film director, and the most talented from an esthetic point of view, that Denmark has known since Carl T. Dreyer. Moreover, Lars von Trier particularly admires his compatriot.. Born in 1956 in Copenhagen, Lars von Trier had always wanted to make films. He produced several short films, first in Super 8 (1976 to 1971), then in 16 and 35 mm: "Orchidégarteneren" (1977), "Menthe La bienheureuse" (1979), followed by his productions for the Danish Film School " Nocturne " (1980), whose screenplay would strongly inspire " Dancer in the Dark k" (2000) and "Liberation Pictures" (1982). Lars von Trier graduated from the Danish Film School (Den Danske Filmskole) in 1983. From the start of his career, he affirmed provocation as an artistic principle. He has undoubtedly always been very aware of the effects of his provoking, ever since his graduation film "Liberation Pictures", in which he chose to show Liberation after the German occupation of Denmark from an unexpected angle. Il paradosso del Dogma di Lars von Trier di Maurizio Fantoni Minnella Altri articoli Ci si è spesso interrogati sulla necessità di stilare un Dogma per circoscrivere una poetica, per affermare un punto di vista rigoroso (e rigido) sulla realtà, come nel caso, unico nel suo genere, del Dogma voluto dal regista danese Lars von Trier e accettato da altri autori europei, primo fra tutti Thomas Winterberg con Festen Il Dogma viene letteralmente applicato in film come Le onde del destino (1996) e Idioti (1998). Ma l'idea stessa di Dogma contraddice in termini dialettici la libertà dell'artista di sperimentare le possibilità espressive offerte dal linguaggio filmico, cogliendone appieno le risonanze segniche e le ambiguità, mentre fornisce all'artista una sintassi che è il risultato della scissione tra la forma pensata e la sua applicazione. Quello che in prima istanza poteva apparire emblematico di una scelta di assoluta coerenza, di rigore quasi ascetico, viene successivamente configurandosi come una sorta di artificio settario di autoaffermazione autoriale, gesto diviso tra negazione e platea che colpisce i pubblici d'Europa per l'assidua volontà del nuovo, o appunto per la natura stessa della proposta estetico-espressiva. In un panorama europeo in verità piuttosto avaro di sorprese, il Dogma di Lars von Trier innanzitutto ottiene una risonanza intellettuale, tra lo stupore e l'ammirazione da parte di chi è sempre in cerca di nuovi presunti maestri. In realtà, dietro le dichiarazioni di poetica stilate in un vero e proprio manifesto si cela, paradossalmente, l'urgenza di un cinema povero, "naturale", senza artifici di luci, colonna sonora, montaggio. Non un cinema delle origini (che peraltro si basava su un differente rapporto tra immagini in movimento e suoni), ma orientato verso una primitiva essenzialità e una oggettività in cui è ridotto ai minimi termini l'intervento del regista sulla materia, quasi una negazione del cinema stesso come artificio e messinscena.

Films divers Lars Von Trier est l'objet de toutes les analyses et fascine tout le monde par sa conception du cinéma. Réaliste, épuré, pas la moindre place pour les effets spéciaux. Caméra sur l'épaule, ses films se veulent des reportages acerbes, des photos impudiques sur la société. La personnalité du réalisateur, également, est régulièrement disséquée, le dogme semble être la panacée pour des journalistes en quête d'inédit. Pourtant Lars Von Trier est tout sauf un humaniste réformateur, il a développé un style, certes mais finalement, il s'est inspiré de l'existant et l'a poussé à l'extrême et ses films sont vraisemblablement beaucoup plus intéressants que sa jeunesse danoise, que sa conception caricaturale des acteurs et de tous ses collègues. Arrêtons-nous aux films ou passons notre chemin. Une dernière chose toutefois, si Lars Von Trier veut continuer de se positionner en marge du cinéma contemporain, il faudra qu'il évite de se servir de certaines de ses astuces, d'user les mêmes ficelles, même s'il le fait avec plus de discernement et de subtilité. Notamment, cette propension au mélo, à la montée dramatique fait de lui un cinéaste pas complètement vierge, pas dénué de malice en tout cas. Les films sont bouleversants, incroyables. Les idées de départ sont superbes, la réalisation, forcément parfaite, les scenarii subtiles et les acteurs incroyablement touchants et vrais.

La magia del musical es, en cierto nivel, su habilidad de transformar lo ordinario en algo extraordinario. Para algunos, el film pareciera decirnos, ésta es la única manera de sobrevivir. El terror de las escenas en la corte y en la prisión es precisamente la manera en que esa misma cultura que da lugar a y genera ese espacio de magia, puede también dotarse del poder de hacer desaparecer la vida del otro. Porque es también posible decir que el film medita sobre cuál es el espacio de ese "otro" en esta cultura norteamericana: un otro inmigrante, un otro discapacitado (por la ceguera), un otro de clase obrera.
