Extractions: Pain, definite or indefinite swellings or lipomas, weight gain of maybe 50%, fatigue, difficulty in walking. The disease occurs mainly among women and increases with age. In spite of the fact that the disease has been known and described for more than 100 years very little research is going on - a fact that must relate to the disease being so rare. The WHO system of diagnoses ICD-10 places it under the number E 88-2.

Extractions: There are a number of genetic diseases, enzymes and genes which seem to be involved in aging. Progeria and Werner Syndrome show characteristics of accelerated aging. Xeroderma Pigmentosum and Cockayne syndrome show defects in the nucleotide exicision repair pathway for DNA damage, particularly that caused by ultraviolet radiation. Other diseases such as Ataxia-Telangiectasia and Bloom syndrome show increased cancer rates usually because of excessive sensitivity to chromsome breakage. Extractions: thank you. A: Keratosis is a condition where there is a horny growth from the hair follicles, usually on the backs of the thighs and the arms. Usually when I have treated this condition it has been part of a constitutional picture and there is no one remedy in homeopathy for Keratosis Pilaris. Remedies that might be worth looking at include Arsenicum album, Cal. Fluor and Alumina. Other treatments which have been suggested include Vitamin A or Betacarotene supplements, and Evening Primrose Oil. At present you can order homeopathic and nutritional supplements by the links in the product section on this website. In the near future it is hoped that I will be developing a special delivery service from the website itself. Extractions: How is a lipoma treated? Edith Jones* remembers the day she first noticed a small, egg-shaped lump under her arm. Worried about breast cancer, she made an immediate appointment with her doctor. To her overwhelming relief, the lump turned out to be something called a lipoma, a noncancerous lump of fatty tissue. Over the next few years, however, she was less than pleased to find a dozen more lipomas cropping up on different parts of her body, including her chest, thighs, and upper arms. "I know that these run in my family," she says. "But I was still hoping to escape them." What is a lipoma? A lipoma is a round, moveable lump under the skin (they range from pea-sized to the size of an egg, or even larger sometimes). Technically, lipomas are a type of tumor, but don't be alarmed by the term they're benign, which means they aren't cancerous. Lipomas are typically small less than one inch in diameter but can grow much larger in some cases. They are soft to the touch and if you manipulate yours with your fingers you may notice that it moves around a bit. Lipomas grow in the layer of fatty tissue beneath the skin, most commonly on the chest, back, shoulders, neck, and upper arms and thighs. The good news is that a lipoma is likely to grow very slowly; the bad news is that if you have one lipoma you may develop several.
