5-0 out of 5 stars Straighforward and Sincere
I never really read books...especially Fiction.I'd rather read reference material, those with "practical appeal".The problem is I get so self-absorbed with stories if not downright involved with the characters.I don't know why but I believe others who prefer non-Fiction will have the same sentiments as me.

With the advent of E-Readers, I wanted to try out reading again (whatever) and this collection of self-help books by Wallace D. Wattles is my first Amazon Kindle purchase for the inviting fee of $2.99.I must say I couldn't advance to writing stuff on the Internet (my blogs, comments on social-networking sites, etc...) without finishing this book first.I put it up like a kind of self-proclaimed mini-challenge...to further my progress in Reading, and halt my incessant chit-chat on the web...not that I really do ;-)

Although not such a heavy read...it is actually easy reading based on Google's free e-books site, I finished reading it after 3 weeks of purchase.Needless to say, I am "into" these self-help books and I enjoyed reading The Sciences on Being Rich, Well, and Great's rather comprehensive strategy on life.I really wanted the thoughts to impress upon me (like meditate on its self-contained wisdom), which is why it probably took me a long time to finish...which I do with books really. It gives the reader a mental set on how to face life's challenges in a refreshing way...which others will merely refer to as having a positive outlook in life.Well, I myself, have always been a pessimist of sorts and this book gives me a strong foothold on that so-called positive attitude or outlook, and guides me along the way.Pretty helpful!

I clearly recommend it to people who think, have a need to shed light on their current problems, whatever they may be...especially those who purchased a Kindle without having a clue as to what to buy with it.I say buy a copy and you'll never have a reason to look back on your (rather expensive electronic) purchase. This e-book will set you free...instantly from financial woes and whoas!I believe it only costs $.99 if you live in North America, and is a no-brainer easy pick of the bunch!

Final verdict:I loved it and it makes me love my Kindle more!!!First mission accomplished! ... Read more

Product Description

Exploring the life of a man who for 700 years has been revered as the consummate, incomparable Scottish hero, this study examines how the legend of William Wallace—an ingenious and capable man who initiated a resistance movement that ultimately secured the nation’s freedom and independence—overtook historical reality, a process which has continued for centuries as manifested in modern media and film. Here, a team of leading historians and critics from both Scotland and England investigate what is known of the medieval warrior’s career from contemporary sources, most of which were actually created by his enemies. Showing how he was perhaps too dangerous for his own era, as Wallace was reviled, opposed, and eventually betrayed, this book discusses how he was later viewed differently by various generations of Scots, primarily as the archetypal Scot who would teach kings and nobles where their duties should lie and who would live free or freely die for the liberty of his nation.

This is the standard history of Orange County, Virginia, most of whose recordshave perished. While there are chapters on county courthouses, churches, people and houses, theGermanna Colony, and Orange County's participation in the French and Indian Wars, theRevolution and the Civil War, the genealogical strength of the book lies in its copiousappendices. These include a list of persons who imported themselves or were imported into thecounty between 1736 and 1756, the Orange County census of 1782, and rosters of OrangeCounty men in the Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. ... Product Description
Still one of the most felicitous of Hegelian translations, Wallace's version of the Logic brings out, with matchless skill, the spirit and sense of the original. The translation covers the Zusatze added by Leopold von Henning, which include some of Hegel's most memorable utterances. An introduction by J.N. Findlay throws light on the logical pattern of the work and its relation to the pattern of the whole system of which it is the notional anticipation, and corrects a small number of errors in the translation itself. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Buy the Newer Translation
Wallace's translation of Hegel's "Encyclopaedia Logic" is terrible. Buy the newer--and much more faithful--translation by Gereats, Suchting and Harris, available through Hackett Publishing Company.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy the other edition
Anyone interested in buying a copy of the so-called 'Lesser Logic" would be better off getting a copy of the newer translation by Harris etc.

5-0 out of 5 stars Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
This is the book Aleister Crowley mentions to be studied in " Liber OS ABYSMI vel DAATH." Via the reason, this man has gathered all systems of philosophy together into one gigantic fulfilment ofbewilderment: if one actually contemplates what he means, one will justcause a destruction of the precepts which had accumulated to the point offervour, thus causing one to feel worse after experiencing thisannihilating tragedy of a text-book. Still, there must be some sort ofsufficient synthesis inherent in the reading, as to cause a fantastic foamof brewing thoughts in the reflection mode of the Memory phase of the Mind, utterly beyond mere positive thinking. ...
