This project will consist of the following strategies that will be available to all school communities in Colorado: information about the Safe Communities-Safe Schools Model, technical assistance, publications, web site, information house, media campaign, and a long-term response plan.

The coalition, formed in 1994, involves more than 1,500 educators, police, and youth workers in activities and stimulates the creation of community-based violence prevention coalitions. It has assisted schools in developing new violence prevention programs and facilitated networking and information sharing among members through bimonthly forums, major conferences, training seminars, task groups, youth involvement, and in-depth consultation and technical assistance to schools and communities.
